While all three are related to circuit switching and protection, their roles and functions are completely different. You can understand their relationship as follows:
High-voltage switchgear: A large cabinet (complete set of equipment), it is the carrier of the entire power distribution system.
Circuit breaker: The core "intelligent bodyguard" in the cabinet, responsible for cutting off current and protecting the circuit.
Fuse: A "one-time defense line" in the cabinet, sacrificing itself to protect the equipment in case of danger.
High-voltage switchgear (complete set of power distribution equipment)
It is not a single electrical component, but a metal-enclosed cabinet (complete set of equipment).
Function: Like a "container," it assembles dozens of devices such as circuit breakers, disconnect switches, fuses, transformers, and protection devices according to a specific wiring scheme.
Responsibilities: Responsible for the power distribution, line control, equipment protection, and real-time monitoring of the entire power system.
Features: Possesses strict "five-proof" safety interlocking functions (such as preventing overloaded circuit breaking and preventing accidental entry into energized areas), making it the most common large-scale equipment in substations, factory power distribution rooms, and high-rise building power distribution rooms.

Circuit Breaker (Automatic Switch)
It is the most core and complex core protection component in switchgear.
Function: It can not only manually connect or disconnect circuits like a regular switch, but more importantly, it provides automatic protection. When an overload (excessive power consumption) or short circuit occurs, it will automatically trip to cut off the power supply.
Principle: Tripping is triggered by internal thermal effects (overload protection) and magnetic effects (short circuit protection).
Features: Reusable. After tripping, the cause can be identified and the fault rectified; manually pushing the switch back up (resetting) will restore power supply without replacing parts. Modern intelligent circuit breakers can also be remotely monitored and communicated with.

Fuse
It is the simplest one-time protection component.
Function: Function: Primarily used for short-circuit protection. When the current rises abnormally to a certain threshold, the internal metal fuse element heats up and melts, thereby breaking the circuit and minimizing property damage and personal injury.
Characteristics: Single-use. Once it melts, power must be cut off and a new fuse must be installed to restore power.
in conclusion
If you walk into a power distribution room, the large metal cabinet standing on the floor is a high-voltage switchgear; open the cabinet door, and the larger switch inside that can be pushed up after tripping is a circuit breaker;
VS1-12 Vacuum circut breaker
VS1-12 vacuum circuit breaker is an indoor switch equipment with a rated voltage of 12kV and AC 50/60Hz. It adopts an integrated frame operating mechanism and is suitable for various industrial and mining enterprises, as well as power grid equipment. It can be used as a handcart unit for use with KYN28A-12 switchgear, or as a fixed unit with relevant mechanical interlocking, making it suitable for XGN2 and other fixed cabinets.
