Every time a vacuum circuit breaker interrupts a fault current, the real work happens inside one component: the vacuum interrupter. It's the heart of the breaker - a sealed ceramic tube containing the fixed and moving contacts, housed in a high-vacuum environment (typically better than 10⁻⁴ Pa). When the contacts separate under fault conditions, the arc that forms is contained within the vacuum envelope. Because vacuum has such high dielectric strength, the arc is extinguished within the first current zero - typically in less than half a cycle. Our 24kV vacuum interrupter is rated for 24kV with a lightning impulse withstand of 125kV and short-circuit breaking capacity up to 31.5kA. It delivers the interruption performance that 24kV switchgear - whether in mining, railway traction, or industrial distribution - depends on to protect equipment and personnel.
