What is the maximum rated voltage of a vacuum circuit breaker?

The maximum rated voltage of a vacuum circuit breaker depends mainly on its application scenario and model, as follows:

Conventional power system applications

10kV/12kV: Applicable to distribution networks (such as 10kV lines) and industrial systems, common models are ZW8-12 series (12kV) or 20kV outdoor pole-mounted type (24kV).

20kV: Some outdoor pole-mounted vacuum circuit breakers use a 20kV rated voltage and have a higher insulation level (such as 65kV power frequency withstand voltage).

Locomotive-specific models

SS7E electric locomotive: The rated voltage of the vacuum circuit breaker is 25kV.

12SS7E electric locomotive: The rated voltage is 29kV.

Other special voltages

30kV: Some permanent magnet vacuum circuit breaker use a 30kV rated voltage, combined with a permanent magnet mechanism and a manual release design.

Summary

The maximum rated voltage range of vacuum circuit breaker is relatively wide. Conventional power systems are mostly 10kV-24kV, and locomotive-specific ones can reach 25kV-30kV. The specific selection needs to be based on the model and application scenario.
