1. Working Principle

Secondary circuit must not be open-circuited: An open circuit will cause all the current on the primary side to become excitation current, resulting in saturation of the core and generation of high voltage on the secondary side (up to several thousand volts), which may cause equipment damage and safety hazards.

Current ratio fixed: The rated current ratio (Kn) is determined by the number of turns on the primary and secondary sides to ensure measurement accuracy.
