Vacuum circuit breaker case materials are mainly plastic, metal and ceramic. Plastic shell lightweight, good insulation, but lower strength; metal shell high strength, high temperature resistance, but heavier; ceramic shell insulation, high temperature resistance, but easy to break. Selection needs to be based on the use of the environment, working conditions and other comprehensive consideration.

1. plastic shell

Plastic shell is a material widely used in low-voltage circuit breakers. Commonly used plastic materials are ABS, PC, PA, etc., they have the advantages of lightweight, good insulation properties, strong shock resistance. In addition, plastic housings also have good processing performance and low cost, making plastic circuit breakers highly competitive in the market. However, the strength of the plastic casing is relatively low, and it is susceptible to mechanical shock and high-temperature environments, which may lead to deformation or even melting. 2.metal shell

Metal casing is mainly used for high-voltage vacuum circuit breaker, such as cast aluminium, stainless steel and so on. Metal casing has high strength and good high temperature resistance, which can effectively prevent the external environment from damaging the circuit breaker and improve the reliability of the circuit breaker. At the same time, the metal shell also has good electrical conductivity, which is conducive to the transmission of current and heat dissipation. However, the metal casing is heavier, has a higher manufacturing cost, and requires good anti-corrosion treatment. Therefore, when choosing a circuit breaker with a metal casing, it is necessary to comprehensively consider its performance, cost and use of the environment and other factors.

 

3.ceramic shell

Ceramic shell is mainly used for high-voltage circuit breakers, surge arresters and other equipment. Ceramic materials have excellent electrical insulation, high temperature resistance and mechanical strength, can maintain stable performance in harsh operating environments. In addition, ceramic housings have good corrosion resistance and long service life. However, the ceramic shell is easy to break, not easy to process, and the cost is high. Therefore, when choosing vacuum circuit breaker with ceramic shells, special attention needs to be paid to the safety issues during their installation and use.
