Do you know how to maintain an SF6 circuit breaker?

The maintenance of SF6 circuit breaker must follow the procedures of regular inspection, sealing test, gas status monitoring, and safe operation. Specific measures are as follows:

Daily Inspection and Visual Check

Visual Inspection: Inspect the casing and porcelain bushings for integrity, free from rust, damage, or dirt. Verify the correct opening/closing position indicator.

Ensure fasteners are secure and the grounding system is in good working order.

Operating Status Monitoring: Regularly check the gas pressure against the temperature-pressure curve, record the data, and compare it with standards.

Listen to the operating sounds of the energy storage motor and internal components. Check the opening/closing coils for abnormal heating or a burning smell.

Sealing Inspection and Gas Maintenance

Sealing Inspection: Perform qualitative leak testing on all sealing surfaces every two years to ensure there are no leaks exceeding 10⁻⁶ atm/cm³/s.

Gas Condition Monitoring: Conduct a trace moisture test on SF6 gas annually; the result should be ≤300 ppm (20℃).

If the pressure gauge shows abnormalities (e.g., rapid drop), immediate action is required; in severe cases, power outage and maintenance are necessary.

Lubrication and Transmission Maintenance

Lubrication: Lubricate rotating and transmission parts every six months, and operate the circuit breaker three times to confirm normal operation.

Safe Operating Procedures

Vacuum Limitation: Do not perform opening and closing operations under vacuum conditions to avoid damaging the arc-extinguishing chamber.

Maintenance Preparation: During normal maintenance, release the energy of the opening and closing springs to ensure operational safety.

Emergency Handling Measures

If the gas pressure drops below 0.42 MPa, immediately disconnect the power supply and take isolation measures. Proceed with the handling of the situation after the load has been transferred.
