XDTZ Pays Attention To International Consumer Rights Day

"3.15" is "International Day for Protecting Consumers' Rights". It was established by Consumers International in 1983 with the aim of expanding the publicity of consumer rights protection, making consumer rights more recognized worldwide, and promoting cooperation and exchanges among consumer organizations in various countries and regions to better protect consumer rights on an international scale.

How Consumers Can Protect Their Rights

(I) Offline Brick-and-Mortar Stores:

1. Communicate with the Merchant: If a consumer has purchased a defective product, they can first negotiate a solution with the merchant.

2. Call the 12315 Consumer Complaint Hotline: If the problem cannot be resolved after communicating with the merchant, the consumer can call the 12315 consumer complaint hotline.

3. Report the situation on the official 12315 complaint website.

Report the situation to relevant departments: Consumers can report their difficulties to the local administrative authorities.

(II) Online Stores:

1. Website Complaints: Major online shopping websites have their own customer service departments to handle various transaction disputes. Consumers can provide the website with photos of the purchased goods, chat logs, transaction records, and other relevant information to file a complaint or report. If there is suspicion of criminal activity, major online shopping websites should also promptly report the situation to the public security authorities.

2. Online Reporting: In case of online shopping fraud, consumers should promptly report the case to the public security department. To prevent more consumers from being deceived, consumers who have already been defrauded should promptly report the case to the public security department and request that the public security department block the website and the fraudster's mobile phone number and bank account. Consumers can report the case to the local public security bureau's internet monitoring department or by phone.

Consumer Association Complaints: Similar to ordinary goods, consumer disputes involving online shopping can also be reported to the provincial or municipal consumer association. Regarding the risks associated with online shopping, consumers should try to obtain proof of purchase or preserve relevant evidence. Most online retailers are actually companies located in other regions; when receiving goods, carefully check the official seal on the receipt. If a dispute arises regarding purchased goods, a complaint should be filed with the relevant department in the location of the entity that stamped the invoice, in accordance with the principle of territorial jurisdiction.
