Maintaining SF₆(sulfur hexafluoride) circuit breakers is a crucial factor for ensuring their long-term reliable operation and the safety of the power system.

2. Maintenance of mechanical components

3. Strengthen the monitoring of the gas pressure in SF6 circuit breakers

1)The meter reading should be conducted once a week. If necessary, the frequency can be increased according to the actual situation.

2) To ensure that the ambient temperature is as consistent as possible with the internal gas temperature of the SF6 circuit breaker, the meter reading time should be selected at the end of a period when the daily temperature is relatively stable.

4. Inspect the operating mechanism

The operation inspection of the spring operating mechanism is as follows:

1) When the circuit breaker is in operation, the power switch or fuse of the energy storage motor should be in the engaged position and must not be disconnected at will.

2) Inspect the storage motor. Ensure that the contact points of the travel switch are not stuck or deformed, and that the closing and opening coils do not emit smoke or have any unpleasant odors.

3) When the circuit breaker is in the open position, the opening lever should return to its original position, the opening lock should engage, and the closing spring should be energized.

4) For SF6 circuit breakers in operation, the good condition of the operating fuses should be checked using a multimeter every 6 months.

5. Environmental and Appearance Maintenance

 

Keep the enclosure of the circuit breaker clean to prevent flashover caused by dirt.

6. Regular Overhaul

A complete disassembly overhaul is carried out based on the operating years or the number of operations (such as after 10 years of operation or 2,000 operations).

7. Record and Data Analysis

Detailed records of the test data for each maintenance (such as gas pressure, moisture content, mechanical characteristics) should be kept. Trend analysis can be used to predict potential failures.
