How to maintain a vacuum circuit breaker?

Maintenance of vacuum circuit breakers requires regular inspection of key components and adherence to standardized procedures to ensure safe and reliable operation of the equipment. The following are specific maintenance points:

VTZ-12 Vacuum Circuit Breaker

I. Daily Inspection and Cleaning

Visual Inspection: Inspect the arc-extinguishing chamber glass tube for cracks or damage, and check for oxidation or discoloration of the shielding cover.

Observe conductive parts (such as insulators and tie rods) for dust accumulation; clean regularly to maintain insulation performance.

Sound and Odor Monitoring: Listen for any abnormal sounds or burning smells during equipment operation; immediately stop the machine and inspect for any abnormalities.

II. Maintenance of Key Components

Arc-Extinguishing Chamber Maintenance: Regularly check the vacuum level (by observing the condition of the glass tube or using professional instruments). Replace the arc-extinguishing chamber if the vacuum level is insufficient.

Measure the contact overtravel and the condition of the moving contact's return spring. Replace the contacts and springs if severe wear is observed.

Mechanical Transmission Components: Check for looseness in the transmission cylinder, crank arm connecting bolts, etc. Apply lubricant to rotating joints to reduce wear.

Measure the opening and closing stroke. Adjust the connecting parts or test the mechanical characteristics if abnormalities are found.

III. Electrical Performance Testing

Insulation Testing: Regularly perform power frequency withstand voltage tests on insulation components; replace any that fail immediately.

Measure the main circuit resistance (DC measurement is required when the current is <1600A); abnormal resistance indicates a contact problem.

Protection Device Testing: Check whether the overcurrent, undervoltage, and temperature protection devices are functioning properly and ensure reliable linkage.

IV. Special Scenario Handling

After a disconnection: A temporary shutdown and inspection are required. Operation can only be resumed after confirming there are no abnormalities.

Maintenance in Humid Environments: Regularly clean the oil-water separator in the air inlet pipe of the air receiver to prevent airway blockage.

V. Maintenance Cycle and Records

Annual Inspection Requirements: One power outage per year to complete withstand voltage tests, mechanical characteristic tests, and component replacement.

Record Management: Detailed records of each maintenance session, including content, test data, and processing results, are maintained for easy traceability and analysis.

Through this systematic maintenance, the service life of the VTZ-12 vacuum circuit breaker can be effectively extended, and the failure rate reduced.
