How much do you know about the commonly used voltage levels in my country?

The commonly used voltage levels in my country's power system include 220V, 380V, 10kV, 35kV, 110kV, 220kV, 500kV, etc.

The voltage levels in my country's power system are classified as follows:

 

1. Safety Voltage

 

Usually below 36V, used to prevent electric shock accidents and ensure personal safety.

Low Voltage: 1kV and below, including 220V and 380V, mainly used for electrical equipment in homes and offices, as well as small equipment in industrial production.

220V Voltage: The most common voltage level in daily life, mainly used for electrical equipment in homes and offices. 380V Voltage: Mainly used in industrial production.

 

2. Medium Voltage

 

Above 1kV and below 20kV, mainly used for power supply and transmission in urban power grids. 10kV Voltage: A common voltage level in urban power grids, mainly used for power supply and transmission in cities.

3. High Voltage

 

 Above 20kV and below 330kV, including 10kV, 35kV, 110kV, and 220kV, used for urban trunk lines, power transmission connecting urban and rural areas, and high-power transmission lines.

35kV: Mainly used for trunk lines in cities.

110kV: Mainly used for power transmission connecting urban and rural areas.

220kV: Mainly used for high-power transmission lines, such as those crossing mountainous areas or long-distance transmission lines.

 

4. Ultra-High Voltage

 

330kV and above, below 1000kV, used for large-scale power transmission.

500kV: The highest voltage level in my country's power grid, mainly used for large-scale power projects and large-scale power transmission. Examples include large hydroelectric power stations and nuclear power plants.

 

5. Ultra-high voltage (UHV)

 

1000kV and above AC, ±800kV and above DC, used for large-scale power projects and long-distance, high-capacity power transmission, such as large hydropower stations and nuclear power plants.

 

The classification of different voltage levels is mainly to adapt to different electricity demands and transmission distances, ensuring the safe, economical, and efficient operation of the power system. For example, high voltage and UHV are mainly used for long-distance power transmission to reduce energy loss during transmission; while low voltage is suitable for the electricity needs of households and small industrial equipment.
